Mr Guidi said because of its physical dimension and demography, Malta could not compete in producing ‘hard values’ like industrial factories or in the number of TEUs, but it certainly can compete in ‘soft values’ like agencies, brokers and professionals, who together with an efficient administration, can become an extraordinary flywheel of success for the shipping business.The ESA Group was established in 1947 and is headquartered in Genoa. It is the only Italian-based organisation offering ‘one-stop shop’ ship management and has offices in nine countries.
ESA Ship Management Ltd, a Maltese, wholly owned subsidiary of ESA Genoa, has started operations in Malta. Its office is in Old Mint Street, Valletta.
The role of a ship’s technical manager is to ensure that it is totally compliant in every respect with all internationalstandards so that it may proceed with delivering cargo where needed and when needed.
